Breaking away from witchcraft

For eight years, my cousin had a big traditional shrine by the side of his house. He told me his late father was a strong Protestant and ignored the ancestors for which reason he was told to construct a traditional shrine to house the ancestors.

I visited him in his home one time several years back and as I chatted with him, he told me he was going through a hard time and he had visited many traditional healers and there was no change in his life. That day,I gave him a prayercard of St. Josemaria and asked him to pray through his intercession but he did not take it seriously. I meanwhile continued to pray for him through the intercession of St. Josemaria.

One past September, he called me and asked for two prayercards of St. Josemaria. I gave him the cards and later, towards the end of that same month, he invited me to his home.

On my arrival, I saw that the big shrine was no more. He told me he had demolished it for two reasons: first he had had a dream and it happened three times. In the dream he could see his late father and mother and in the background he saw the image of St. Josemaria, all of them telling him to renounce witchcraft.

Second, he told me God had answered his prayer through the intercession of St. Josemaria but he didn't tell me his prayer intention. Lastly, he said, thanks be to God, he had stopped wasting money on witchdoctors and buying a he-goat every month to sacrifice to the ancestors.

Later on he disclosed to me his intention: to have another child. So far, he had had only one who is currently in university. In October, his wife had a baby girl.
