Mass of Blessed Alvaro

A solemn Mass in Strathmore University's chapel brought the centennial year of the birth of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo to a solemn close.

Mass of Blessed Alvaro held in Strathmore University on the 14th of March

The Mass was held in the late morning of Saturday March 14th with almost 300 men, women and children in attendance.
The main celebrant, the Regional Vicar of Opus Dei for East Africa Rev. Dr. Silvano Ochuodho, dwelt on the humility of Blessed Alvaro that the congregation could learn to imitate.

Blessed Alvaro was born in Madrid, Spain on 11th of March 1914. He was the first successor to St. Josemaria Escriva as the head of Opus Dei and was beatified last September in his hometown in front of a crowd of 250,000 from the world over.
